We spent one night in Wausau. Our first date was in this city 7 years ago. At the time we didn’t know what Rib Mountain was, but every time we drove past it when going to visit each other, we’d see signs and always say “is that Rib Mountain?” to every bump on the horizon.

This year we not only saw Rib Mountain, but we were lucky to see a gypsy jazzical show by Harmonious Wail at sunset. We had pizza (this seems to be a habit), had some soft serv ice cream, walked around and saw the gorgeous Monk Botanical Gardens. Note: bring mosquito repellent or mad ninja skills.

In town, we tried to find the restaurant where we had our first lunch and it didn’t seem to be the same establishment. We saw plenty of other fun things, two men hugging as they parted ways, kids playing in the water fountain, someone trying to play an out-of-tune piano, people arguing (tis life) and lots of beautiful umbrella-ellas.
